I started in the lakes of Kentucky where I grew up.  A move to Florida brought me into a whole new realm of fishing.  After receiving a bachelor degree in Biology, I decided I liked catching fish more than studying them! I started as a mate on a charter boat in St. Augustine, Florida and worked my way up the ladder to captain.

I have been lucky to work with some very experienced captains and mates. I am constantly learning new techniques and evolving my own fishing style.  I have been fortunate to travel to places like Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and the Bahamas.

  I ran the charter boat, “Fish Trap” out of Port Canaveral, Florida for six years. For the past four years I’ve been captain of a private custom express boat.

I have been witness to some incredible sights and events during my 21-year career on the water and would like to share my knowledge and experience with others.

  Over the years I have participated in numerous fishing seminars at fishing clubs, businesses and national presentations.  I have found that people are so hungry for the information, and there is never enough time to present it all during a seminar.  I wanted a medium in which I could present the detail that is required to apply the new knowledge.  Thus, Offshore Academy is born.  I hope it is both interesting and helpful.
